Health:
Tell us which drugs work best
When you're diagnosed with a disease, you want to know which treatments work best. But drug companies pay for most research, so we don't really know the best drugs at the best price. Tell Congress to support unbiased, independent drug studies.

Help Congress Stop MRSA!
Good bills in Congress could stop the spread of MRSA, but they need cosponsors to move forward.
Money:
Fix the causes--stop the crisis!
Tell lawmakers to help Americans in crisis and fix the underlying weaknesses in our mortgage market that created the crisis in the first place.
Help Secure Your SSN: Act Now!
H.R. 3046 would stop the widespread and unnecessary sale, purchase and displaying of Social Security Numbers by government and businesses that has made consumers more vulnerable to identity theft.

Food:
Food safety laws -- a recipe for disaster!
Ever had food poisoning? You're not alone in your misery 76 million of us get sick each year from foodborne illness. But it's more than intestinal distress. At least 5,000 people die, often an agonizing and painful death.
Tainted tomatoes? Enough is Enough!
Americans have suffered and died from tainted spinach, hamburger and peanut butter. Now, salmonella-laced tomatoes are sending others to the hospital in gut-wrenching pain. How did grocery shopping become a game of Russian roulette?
Tell us where's the beef!
After the recent recall of more than 140 million pounds of beef, the public should know which supermarkets, restaurants, schools and other institutions may be selling it. Stop the secrecy and tell us, where's the beef!
Demand Safe Imported Food!
Enough is enough! Tell Congress we are sick of putting ourselves, our children and our pets at risk from hazardous imported food.
Tell the USDA: tell us where our food comes from!
With a national spotlight on imported foods that could harm ourselves, our children or our pets, it is time to let the USDA know that you support mandatory country-of-origin labeling for our food!
Media & Telecommunications:
Cell phone gripes -- They can hear you now!
Your frustration with cell phone contracts that lock you in to bad service has been heard! Take the next step and tell the FCC to pass a strong rule without taking away your rights.
Stop the anti-competitive practices!
Most cell phone providers lock you into one or two year contracts with a hefty early termination fee, allowing little leeway for moving, job change, or just plain poor service that may call for wanting a new cell phone provider. Are you fed up?

Other:

Thank You! And Thank Them
You did it! Congress overwhelmingly passed the product safety bill last week, and President Bush said he will sign the bill into law.
Don't take away our rights!
We've all been handed mounds of paperwork when buying a car, taking a job or getting health care. Often buried in there is a clause preventing you from going to court if a problem arises called "binding arbitration."
Keep toxins away from our kids!
Our children are being exposed to a potentially dangerous toxin and from where you'd least expect it. Certain baby bottles, food container linings, and other products designed for kids contain a chemical that is linked to cancer.
Tell Congress--don't block my email!
You elected them! They represent you! Yet some lawmakers don't want to hear from you anymore and have set up technology to block your messages! They say your messages are spam.
| | |
Tell 5 friends!
Tell your friends and family about the action alerts that are important to you. They can take action like you did. By spreading the word, you give power and weight to your voice. Together we can make a difference! |

Success Stories:
Kim Witczak and Eric Swan have met with Governor Pawlenty and Rep. Jim Ramstad of Minnesota, who became a joint co-sponsor of drug safety legislation in the House. As our online activists put in the call for drug safety legislation in Minnesota, Kim and Eric will be there to reinforce the message with their personal testimony and dedication.
Dick Lambert of Roseville, MN contacted the Financial Privacy Now (FPN) campaign to further educate and encourage members in his community to become aware of issues outside Roseville. Aside from contacting a local AARP and legislators, Dick posted information on the Minnesota security freeze bill on the Roseville Citizens League webpage to get out the word and generate more support on the bill. His web and political savviness helped to invigorate what started off as a bill with limited protections to one of the best security freeze laws in the nation!
