Consumer Power Points!

Thank you for taking the time to talk to your legislators, to the media, and to each other. In recognition of the important work that you do we have launched a new program that assigns you a few points each time you act to empower consumers. Use these points to measure how active you are in our corner of the consumer movement and become an Action Leader. Become a:

100 points 200 points 300 points

Here's how the program works:

For every action alert you take on our site (from the Action Center or from any one of our special campaigns): 10 points
For every survey you fill out about important and current consumer issues: 10 points
If you share your story--If you or a loved one experienced a hospital infection, a problem with your prescription drugs or Medicare; if you have had problems with Internet, TV, radio, cable, or phone company; if you have been the victim of identity theft or a foodborne illness, among other issues, we would love you to tell us about your experience through one of our "share your story" pages. With your permission, we use these stories to promote solutions and can refer you to reporters seeking people with personal experiences: 10 points
After you send an email to your legislator or a company, you can tell your friends about the action using a form on the Thank You screen called "Tell a friend." The first time your friend responds to your Tell-a-Friend email and comes to take action too: 15 points
Temporarily, we will be unable to attribute points to your "Power Points" total when you write letters to the editor. We hope to have this issue resolved in the near future.
